Browned Butter Corn with Basil

Makes 4 servings


  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cups uncooked corn kernels (from about 4 ears)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper
  • 1 cup finely shredded fresh basil


Step 1: Heat butter in a 12-inch heavy skillet over moderately high heat until foam subsides and most of the butter is golden brown. 
Step 2: Add corn, season with salt, and then add the shredded fresh basil.
